‘My blog post was reproduced here- titled ‘a burden on the taxpayer writes….’.

Now, I don’t mind this. I think it’s quite important. Because when Conservatives say they are talking about the ‘big society’- this is the type of person they expect to view society as important.

THe question is- when welfare reform is given to someone on the right of the Conservative party, like Iain Duncan Smith, to placate those who think like this- and we are told that it is in the interests of our society- then does that not tell us a great deal?

I find this preferable to Cameron’s rhetoric. It is honest. You can see exactly what it is, and where it comes from- and what drives it. Unlike rhetoric about fairness, and removing ”benefit traps’…
